1844 (2 June) Folded entire letter to Scotland bearing clear double-arc BERNICE 2 JU 1844 cds on reverse, boxed GLASGOW arrival cds alongside, corrected rate on obverse, one of the earliest recorded covers with the Bernice 1/2 rate – introduced by Post Office Notice in May 1844, also interesting contents mentioning the spread of leprosy
