Description

LARGEST KNOWN MULTIPLE1864 Seal of the Republic, third and last issue, narrow “C” in CENTAVOS and no accent on “U”, 5c Lilac rose in corner marginal block of nine, mint with fresh original gum, hinge in top horizontal row and two hinges in bottom row, the central horizontal row is never hinged, vertical crease between 1st and 2nd horizontal row resulting in a small separation between the first left stamps in the first and second horizontal rows, fresh deep rose shade and large margins all around, according to our research this is the LARGEST KNOWN MULTIPLE of this stamp, the second recorded largest multiple is a block of eight and was lately up for auction, an exceptional item and a key-piece for an exhibition collection of Argentina, cert.
